A rare and extraordinary expression of Tokaj, the 2017 Esszencia displays a deep golden hue illuminated by brilliant amber-orange reflections. Crafted exclusively from the free-run juice of hand-selected botrytized Aszú berries, this nectar represents one of the world's most unique and long-lived wines.

The nose is remarkably intense and complex, revealing layers of peach preserve, dried apricot, quince paste, candied orange peel, acacia blossom, and delicate honeyed nuances. With aeration, subtle notes of orange blossom, almond marzipan, royal jelly, and exotic spices emerge, adding further depth and sophistication.

On the palate, this Hungarian wine is exceptionally rich yet perfectly balanced. Its silky, velvety texture glides effortlessly across the tongue, carrying an astonishing concentration of sweetness while maintaining remarkable freshness. Flavors of apricot jam, quince jelly, acacia honey, orange blossom, marzipan, and candied citrus unfold in successive waves, creating an almost endless tasting experience.

The finish is extraordinarily long, lingering for several minutes with echoes of dried fruits, floral notes, honey, and sweet spices. Despite its immense residual sugar, the wine remains elegant and harmonious, showcasing the remarkable natural acidity that defines great Tokaji wines.

An exceptional meditation wine with virtually limitless aging potential, this Esszencia stands as one of the world's greatest sweet wine treasures. Once opened, it can continue to evolve beautifully for weeks.

Serving Temperature: 10–12°C

Aging Potential: Several decades to over a century.

Best enjoyed on its own as a contemplative wine, though it can also accompany foie gras, blue cheeses, almond-based desserts, or fine pâtisserie.
