Gattinger Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Ried Kreutles

Originating from the Ried Kreutles vineyard — an elegant continuation of the famed Loibenberg — this Grüner Veltliner Smaragd reflects the interplay of geology and microclimate in eastern Wachau. 

The soil composition, shaped by eroded Gföhler gneiss interspersed with loess, contributes depth, herbal complexity, and minerality to this distinctive single-vineyard wine.

Brilliant greenish-yellow in the glass, the wine opens with expressive aromas of wild herbs, accented by notes of ripe yellow apple. The palate is juicy, firm, and focused, showcasing precise acidity and a clean mineral backbone.

A layered structure unfolds across the mid-palate, building toward a vibrant, long finish marked by citrus zest and a touch of white pepper. Fermented and matured in stainless steel and large neutral oak barrels, this Smaragd (13.5% vol. alcohol) achieves a fine balance between richness and freshness.
