Gattinger Riesling Smaragd Ried Höhereck

Perched on a narrow ridge between the iconic Kellerberg and Loibenberg vineyards, Ried Höhereck is one of the most character-defining sites in the Wachau.

The vineyard’s barren Gföhler gneiss soils, southwest exposure, and the cooling influence of northwest winds create the ideal conditions for crafting precise, linear, and minimalist Rieslings. In the glass, the wine displays a pale green-yellow hue.

The aromatic profile is vibrant and focused, led by notes of white peach and fresh stone fruit, delicately accented with a touch of tropical fruit. On the palate, it is juicy yet refined, driven by a lively, fine-grained acidity and layered with subtle cassis undertones.

The finish is long and persistent, showcasing bright lemon zest and a hallmark of pure mineral expression. A classic Smaragd with finesse and structure, this wine speaks of site and precision.
